KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Franklin David Schmittzehe, 81, of Kansas City died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at his home, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Frank was the son of Gus and Stella Schmittzehe.
Survivors include his wife, Adele; three daughters, Katrina, Evonne and EmmaLou; a son, Joshua; and four grandchildren.
Before his marriage he was a Catholic priest in the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese. While raising his family, he worked as a salesman for Stowe Hardware Co. and later Montgomery Ward & Co.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial Mass will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2646 S. 34th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church and/or the Alzheimer's Association (Heart of America Chapter), 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208.
