Surrounded by his loving family, Frank Monroe, 68, of Jackson met his Savior on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Frank expired at Southeast Hospital, and the past several months had struggled with multiple health complications.

He was born June 12, 1949, in Cape Girardeau to Robert and Erma Lohmann Monroe. He and Linda Koch were married June 1, 1968, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Just two days before Frank's passing, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Frank was a 1967 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked 28 years as a welder for Standley Batch Systems in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 2004. He served six years as the preacher at the Church of Christ in Scott City. In recent years, Frank and Linda became members of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson, where Frank often led the singing.

Frank's smile would light up a room. He had an infectious sense of humor and the innate ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. He was an accomplished vocalist and instrumentalist, playing the guitar, bass guitar, banjo and drums. He and Linda were faithful to Christ through their vocal ministry at many local nursing homes.

Loving survivors include his wife, Linda Monroe of Jackson; four children, Emma (Randy) Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, Cindy (Evan) LaBruyere of Desloge, Missouri, Matthew (Jennifer) Monroe of Jackson and Susie (Brent) Lee of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Lindsey (Jacob) Luebbers, Dylan Seabaugh, Kaylin and Ian LaBruyere, Jordan and Seth Monroe and Cole and Jackson Lee; and two sisters, Marlene (Frank) Washington of Temple, Texas, and Kara (Bill) White of Peoria, Illinois.
