FRANK L. CRIPPS

GRAND TOWER, Ill. -- Frank L. Cripps, 83, of Grand Tower, died Tuesday, April 27, 1993, at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro.

He was born Sept. 13, 1909, in Pomona, son of Melvin L. and Ruth Ellis Cripps. He and Mary Lee Etta Wright were married Oct. 15, 1930.

Cripps was a member of Laborers Local in Murphysboro.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, John Cripps of Jonesboro, James Cripps of Slippery Rock, Pa., Francis Cripps of Murphysboro, Frankie Cripps of Grand Tower; three daughters, Colleen Baltzell of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Bernadine Thompson of Carpio, N.D., Ellen Robertson of Grand Tower; two sisters, Maude Camp of Grand Tower, Pauline Trammel of Dupo; 29 grandchildren, and 43 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, three brothers, four sisters and three grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Meredith Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John Cripps will officiate, with burial in Walker Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
