Frank V. Klueppel Jr., 72, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at his home. He was born Sept. 22, 1932, at Benton, Mo., son of Frank V. and Dorothy Scherer Klueppel Sr. He and Carolyn Hinton were married Nov. 16, 1963. Frank was a 1951 graduate of the former Benton High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955...

Frank V. Klueppel Jr., 72, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at his home.

He was born Sept. 22, 1932, at Benton, Mo., son of Frank V. and Dorothy Scherer Klueppel Sr. He and Carolyn Hinton were married Nov. 16, 1963.

Frank was a 1951 graduate of the former Benton High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.

He owned and operated the former Plaza Gifts and Office Supplies from 1965 to 1998. He had worked at K's Merchandise the past year. He had been a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church since 1963, and was a former member of Cape Kiwanis Club.

Loving survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jennifer Klueppel of Hillsboro, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Todd Dohogne of St. Louis, Cathy and Mike Best of Columbia, Mo.; three grandchildren, Abby and Lydia Dohogne, and James Klueppel Jr.

Also surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Irene Klueppel and Charles and Angela Klueppel, all of Benton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today. A vigil service will be held at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery at Benton with graveside military honors.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
