GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Francis Edward "Frank" Jones, 77, of Grand Chain and formerly of Tamms, died Friday, Dec. 8, 1995, at the Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born Feb. 19, 1918, in America Community in Pulaski County, to Edwin S. and Rosa Lee Odle Jones.
Jones was a retired welder foreman with the Burnudgy Northern Railroad in Portland, Ore., a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees in Detroit, Mich. He also was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include two nieces, Joyce Nuny of Clarendon Hills and Marilyn Jenning of Westmont; and a cousin with whom he made his home, Emma L. Casper of Grand Chain.
Friends may call between 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Jesse Bellamy will officiate, and burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Grand Chain.
