EAST PRAIRIE -- Frank Walter Johnson, 75, of St. Louis died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 1997, at his home.
He was born Aug. 25, 1921, in East Prairie, son of Frank W. and Stella Perry Johnson. He and Bernita Pierce were married Dec. 30, 1948, at Charleston.
Johnson was a retired painting and remodeling contractor. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a radio operator in the U.S. Army during World War II. Johnson had lived in St. Louis since 1963.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Frank, Stanley and Phillip Johnson, all of St. Louis; three sisters, Joan England and Edith Ganus of Metairie, La., Doris Ganus of New Orleans, La.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Aubrey Wilson will officiate, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery near Charleston.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. to service time.
