Francis Burdette

Francis Regina Whynott Burdette, 83, of Jackson and formerly of Curling, Newfoundland, Canada, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, June 22, 2023.

She was born June 4, 1940, in Curling, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth F. Martin Whynott.

Francis met and married her husband of 64 years, James Osteen Burdette, in Newfoundland. They traveled for the next 24 years to various United States military bases and Guam. She managed restaurants and, finally, a mall cookie company. After she retired, she and her husband enjoyed many years in Florida before moving to Jackson near family.

Along with her husband, Francis is survived by her children, Donald Burdette of Deer Park, Texas, Deborah Langedoerfer of Springfield, Oregon, Diana Moreland of Jackson and Carl Burdette of Forked River, New Jersey; a half brother, Tyson Pulliam of Atlanta, their spouses and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
