Francis Peter Montano Alipala of Jackson, the infant son of Fortunato and Catherine Alipala, earned his angel wings Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Francis was born at 22 weeks, 5 days on July 24, 2015, at Saint Francis Family Birthplace in Cape Girardeau.
He is survived by his loving parents; brothers, John Paul and Josef Benedict of the home; sister Rigel and brother Rylee of Bridgeton, Missouri; grandparents, Ben and Nene Montano of Cebu City, Philippines; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives in the Philippines.
Every moment of his short life was a miracle, and Francis touched the lives of countless people. His family is eternally grateful to the numerous prayer warriors, excellent NICU staff of both Saint Francis and St. Louis Children's Hospital, the Immaculate Conception School and Parish and numerous supportive and loyal friends.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson.
A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
His life is a proof of the dignity of human life at any age and a testament to the power of prayer.
