Frances Wunderlich, 61, of Pocahontas passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at her home.
She was born June 26, 1948, in Mitchell, S.D., daughter of William K. and Eilene I. Tripp Ettleman. She and Oliver P. Wunderlich were married Sept. 20, 1975. He passed away Sept. 13, 2001.
Frances grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.
When she and Oliver married they moved to Pocahontas. Frances worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 12 years in Cape Girardeau and was very active in her church.
Loving survivors include two sons, Wilson Wunderlich of Davie, Fla., David Wunderlich of Shawneetown; a daughter, Ida Holmberg of Prior Lake, Minn.; a brother; five sisters; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and four brothers.
A graveside memorial service with full military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with Richard Owens officiating.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Children's Hospital.
