Frances Vick

Anna, Ill. -- Frances Mae Vick, 88, of Dongola, Ill., died Friday, June, 20, 2008, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born March 11, 1920, in Tamms, Ill., daughter of Alfred and Mamie Helen Lingle Mitchell.

She and Robert Benton Vick were married Dec. 3, 1940, in Illmo, Mo. He died May 27, 1953.

Vick was retired from her job as a cook on a riverboat.

Survivors include two children, Jackie Vick of Nevada, Mo., and Kenneth Vick of Sumner, Iowa; two brothers, Paul Mitchell of Graham, N.C., and Bob Mitchell of Orleans, Ind.; a sister, Ruth Bachel of Midway, Ga.; and a grandchild, Lea Ann Vick of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Richardson officiating.

Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
