SIKESTON -- Frances Irene Penfold, 78, of Jasper, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1993, at her home. She was born April 19, 1914, in Sikeston, daughter of Walley S. and Nettie A. Darter Martin. She first married William A. Bender, who preceded her in death. She later married Don V. Penfold, who also preceded her in death...

SIKESTON -- Frances Irene Penfold, 78, of Jasper, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1993, at her home.

She was born April 19, 1914, in Sikeston, daughter of Walley S. and Nettie A. Darter Martin. She first married William A. Bender, who preceded her in death. She later married Don V. Penfold, who also preceded her in death.

Formerly of Cape Girardeau, she had lived in Jasper about 37 years. She was a retired accountant. Penfold was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, AARP, Roadrunners Extension Club, and attended Jasper Methodist Church.

Survivors include a great-niece, Lisa Jackson of Cape Girardeau, and a great-great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper was in charge of arrangements.
