Frances K. Fuhrmann, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at the Lutheran Home Assisted Living West.
She was born July 23, 1923, in Charleston, Mo., to Ruben and Estelle M. Smith Kilgore.
Frances graduated from Charleston High School and attended Cape Business College.
She and Ralph A. Fuhrmann were married Nov. 29, 1942, at Fredericktown, Mo. He died Nov. 28, 2004.
Mrs. Fuhrmann worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Trinity Lutheran School and Trinity Lutheran Church for more than 30 years. She served as Cub Scout, Brownie Scout and Girl Scout leader for 10 years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for nearly 70 years.
Survivors include three sons, Ralph Arthur (Jan) Fuhrmann Jr. of Spartanburg, S.C., James C. (Pat) Fuhrmann of Taos, N.M., Don (Judy) Fuhrmann of St. Louis; two daughters, Karen F. (Terry) Spencer of Hillsboro, Mo., Janet S. (Jim) Renna of Manchester, Mo.; a brother, Lex Fuhrmann of Steelville, Ill.; a sister, Maiola (Bob) Berry of Winter Haven, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and a half sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Burgell officiating.
Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
