Frances Lorene Edwards, 81, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Jerusalem, Ark., to the late Paul and Cleo Beavers Ruff. On Oct. 24, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., she married James "Buddy" Edwards, who preceded her in death Dec. 13, 2007.
She was a retired preschool teacher and a member of Eastside Church of the Nazarene in Sikeston.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Edith Edwards of Herndon, Va; three brothers, Elbert Ruff, Billy Ruff and Marvin Ruff, all of Sikeston; four sisters, Ruth Holman of Matthews, Mo., June Burnett, Reba McDonald and Alma Curry, all of Sikeston; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Two brothers also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with the Rev. Brian Blankenship, pastor of Eastside Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
