Frances Dirnberger

ORAN, Mo. -- Frances Ann Dirnberger, daughter of the late Benjamin and MaryAnn Scherer Scheffer, was born Dec. 7, 1942, in Charleston, Missouri, and departed this life Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at her residence in New Hamburg, Missouri, at the age of 78 years.

Frances was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Women's Auxiliary Knights of Columbus. She was a housewife (child corraller) and a resident of Oran.

On July 14, 1962, she was united in marriage to Paul M. Dirnberger Sr. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 2016.

Survivors include four sons, Paul (Tammy) Dirnberger Jr. of Jackson, John (Susan) Dirnberger of Oran, Raymond Dirnberger of Cape Girardeau and Phillip (Denise) Dirnberger of Oran; four daughters, Alice (Roger) Berkbuegler of Biehle, Missouri; Sandra (Steve) Moore of St. Mary, Missouri; Trina (Randy) Tankersley of Perkins, Missouri; and Gail (Adam) DuBois of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Ben Scheffer of Festus, Missouri; Richard Scheffer of Gordonville; and Charles Scheffer of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Marilyn Landewee of Jackson; Mary Cotner of Cape Girardeau; Clara Urhahn of Oran and Teresa Welter of Jackson; brother-in-law, Bernard Dirnberger; sister-in-law, Helen Holmes; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.

Visitation was held Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral Mass was Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg with the Revs. Tom Kiefer and Bala Swamy Govindu con-celebrating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
