Floyd William Wright, 85, of St. Charles, Mo., passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at the Meadowlands, surrounded by family.
Dearest husband of 62 years to Betty Ann Besel Wright; dear son of the late Floyd E. and Isabelle Wright; devoted father of Dr. William B. (Gail) Wright, Robert A. (Kelly) Wright, Bruce L. Wright and Brian S. (Joan) Wright; beloved grandfather of Dr. Amberle, Bradley, Trevor, Katherine and Taylor Wright.
Floyd was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving proudly as a member of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity at the University of Missouri-Rolla. He retired after 37 years as a mechanical engineer with McDonnell Douglas.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and Meadowlands staff members for their loving and tender care they provided Floyd and his family.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Master, UCC, 1325 Paddock, Florissant, Mo.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
The family is being served by Baue Funeral and Memorial Center in St. Charles.
