Floyd C. Weber, 74, of Cape Girardeau was called to heaven Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at his home.
He was born March 14, 1940, in Wittenberg, Missouri, son of Gerhard and Josephine Weber. Floyd and Betty Aubuchon were married July 22, 1967.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Jill Rayburn of Cape Girardeau; son Nathan (Jennifer) Weber of Carrollton, Georgia; and grandchildren, Kennedy Rayburn and Trenton and Lucas Weber. He also is survived by a brother, Gilbert Weber of Wittenberg. Floyd was very close with and survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elton, Norman and Oscar; and sisters, Nelda Steffens and Dorothy McDonald.
Floyd graduated magna cum laude from Southeast Missouri State University in 1971 with a BS in accounting. He was a retired partner with Kerber, Eck & Braeckel CPA. Floyd was a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Tennessee Institute of CPAs, and was a past president of the Southeast chapter of the Missouri Institute of CPAs. He was a member of the Evening Optimists, American Legion Post 133 and the Elks Lodge. He also served as a past president of the Board of Directors of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
He was very proud to have served his country in the Army from 1963 to 1965.
Floyd loved the outdoors and enjoyed meeting buddies at the cabin and fishing trips to Michigan. However, his favorite times were spent taking the grandchildren for truck or Kubota rides in the woods. He also enjoyed having the young men from Teen Challenge working at his home. He would even take them on rides in the woods or would show off his hunting trophies after their work was done.
Floyd always stayed true to his family, friends and roots. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, with Rev. John Dehne officiating. There will be a family burial immediately following at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Altenburg, Missouri, with military honors by the Missouri Honor Team.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church-Outreach, Immanuel Lutheran Church (Altenburg) Beautification Project or Teen Challenge.
