ORAN, Mo. -- Floyd J. "Flip" Soehlig, 86, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in Jacksonville.
He was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Oran. He and Rosemary Schlegel were married April 4, 1942.
Soehlig served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He flew B-17s and B-24s, and was part of the Ploesti Mission in 1943.
He retired from S.C. Johnson and Son Inc. after 31 years of service.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Davis of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons.
A graveside service was held Feb. 13 at Arlington Park Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Arlington Park Cemetery and Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
