Floyd Wayne Niswonger, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1912, at Oran, Mo., son of Peter Cephas and Sudie F. Stoffel Niswonger. He first married Dorothy Austin in 1929. He and Laura Propst were married March 9, 1963, at Scott City.
Niswonger worked at International Shoe Co. 25 years, and retired after 25 years with Miller's Mutual Insurance Association. He had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1927. He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church, and former choir director and Sunday School teacher at Red Star Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald Niswonger of Naperville, Ill.; a daughter, Phyllis Oliver of Jackson; a brother, Marvin Niswonger of Jackson; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters, and a grandson.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Dr. Derek Staples will officiate. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
