WASHINGTON, Utah — Floyd R. Jones, 88, of Washington died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at his home.
He was born Nov. 7, 1919, in Cape Girardeau, son of John H. and Hattie Ramsey Jones. He and Mary Helen McNerlin were married Oct. 29, 1988, in Reno, Nev.
Jones was a chief warrant officer in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Russell Jones of Logan, Utah; a daughter, Novella Kowallek of Reno; three brothers, Harold Jones of Palmdale, Calif., Bill Jones of Fallon, Nev., Larry Jones of Burfordville; a sister, Novella Gilliland of Phoenix; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, a grandchild, four brothers and two sisters.
The funeral was held April 26 at Washington 1st Ward LDS Chapel in Washington. Burial will be Wednesday in Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.
Spilsbury Mortuary in St. George, Utah, is in charge of arrangements.
