SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Floyd "Tommy" Dickerson, 83, of Sedgewickville died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Matthews, Mo.
He was born July 17, 1925, in Southeast Missouri, son of Harry and Rosie Dickerson. He and Ruth Gladine Wigger were married in 1944. She died in January 1992. He and Mae Louise Boyer were married Dec. 15, 1998.
Dickerson retired from Columbia Limestone Quarry. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Perryville, Mo., and was a deacon many years.
Survivors include his wife; five stepsons, Vernon and Danny Gowen and David Dickerson of Perryville, John Gowen of Sedgewickville, Roger Gowen of Junction City, Kan.; five stepdaughters, Carol Lynn, Shirley Barnes and Rita Otte of Perryville, Ella Dluglenski of Edinboro, Pa., Patty Skaggs of Sedgewickville; a sister, Minnie Kennon of Carbondale, Ill.; two half sisters, Nellie Starkweather of Madisonville, Ky., Bonnie Owens of Bismarck, Mo.; stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Cox officiating. Burial was in Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville, Ill.
