Floyd C. Womack, 82, 608 S. Sprigg, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born July 10, 1910, at Oran, son of Harry and Edith Tenkhoff Womack. He and Ruth Craig were married July 14, 1932, in Cape Girardeau. She died Aug. 9, 1986.

Womack moved to Cape Girardeau in 1924. He graduated from and played football at Central High School, and graduated from St. Louis School of Pharmacy.

He first worked with his father at H.B. Womack Drug Store in Oran, and then with his uncle at Dewey Tenkhoff Drug Store here. From 1941 until retiring in 1976 he owned and operated Womack Drug Store at 1000 S. Sprigg.

Womack played in the Muny Baseball League many years, and was a Democratic committeeman over 30 years. He received an award from the Democratic Central Committee for his service.

He was an honoray colonel under Warren E. Hearnes, and served on Joe Teasdale's Advisory Council, both former governors of Missouri. He was a charter member of Cape Girardeau Jaycees, former member of Old St. Vincent's Church, and member of St. Mary's Cathedral.

Survivors include a son, Tom Womack of Cape Girardeau, and a grandson.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Msgr. Richard Rolwing will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
