FLOSSIE TIDWELL

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Flossie E. Tidwell, 92, of Springfield, Ill., formerly of Scott City, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at her home.

She was born Dec. 21, 1907, in Savannah, Tenn., daughter of Archie and Matilda Shelby Austin. She and J.V. Tidwell were married in 1939 in Paragould, Ark. He died in 1977.

Tidwell was a member of Illmo Baptist Church in Scott City, and Order of Amaranth. She had also lived in Paragould, Ark. She had lived in Springfield since 1998.

Survivors include a son, Cletis Underwood of Springfield; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Friends may call at Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel in Springfield after 10 a.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel. The Rev. Neil Franks will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.
