SIKESTON -- Flossie Elizabeth Cox Powers, 89, of Sikeston died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born Oct. 6, 1909, in Mississippi County, daughter of Joseph N. and Minnie Myers Cox. She and Lucius Alvie Powers were married on April 7, 1928. He died July 9, 1965.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, Alvin Ray Powers of Dresden, Tenn.; two daughters, Frances Britt of Sikeston and Margie Bauerle of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Flora Brantley of Columbia; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5:30 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Burl Britt will officiate, with burial in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
