Florence J. Welker, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 31, 2010, at her home.

She was born June 27, 1926, in Biehle, Mo., to Ben and Josephine Blechle Lappe. She and Glen Welker were married Sept. 24, 1946, at Biehle.

Welker was a member of St. Mary Cathedral.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Welker of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Larry (Xiufang) Welker of Gordonville, Jerry (Charlotte) Welker of Cape Girardeau, Floyd (Mary Ann) Welker of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Carol Welker of Perryville, Mo.; a brother, James Lappe of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Paula Welker, Jaime (Bret) Keeven, Janel Welker, Adam (Kate) Welker; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Cathedral, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
