Florence Spooner

Florence Astrid Spooner, 91, of Jackson died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 1, 1915, in Ottawa, Kan., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Shannon. She and Mike Spooner were married in 1936. He died in 1983.

Spooner was a teacher, retiring from Wichita, Kan., Public School System.

Survivors include a son, Randy Spooner of Chaffee, Mo., and a daughter, Kathy Moats of Kansas City, Mo.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Graveside service will be held at a later date in Ottawa.
