FLORENCE RANSON

SIKESTON -- Florence L. Ranson, 86, of Sikeston died suddenly Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, at her home.

She was born May 9, 1910, in Wilson County, Miss., daughter of Joe and Laura Brown Maiden. She and Junior Ranson were married in 1935. He died in 1996.

Ranson was a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Robert, Perry and James Ranson, all of Chicago, William and Terry Ranson of Sikeston; two daughters, Alice Hatcher of Chicago, Willie McCray of Sikeston; a sister, Leola Gibson of Chicago; 35 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call today from 6-8 p.m. at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Travelers Rest Church, with the Rev. Sylvester Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery.
