Florence Emma Robinson Poe, 112, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center. Mrs. Poe was born Aug. 24, 1897, in Farmington, Mo., to William "Wid" and Malinda Caroline Jones Robinson. She was raised in Canalou, Mo., and lived most of her life in Charleston, Mo., prior to moving to Cape Girardeau in 1988. ...

Florence Emma Robinson Poe, 112, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Mrs. Poe was born Aug. 24, 1897, in Farmington, Mo., to William "Wid" and Malinda Caroline Jones Robinson.

She was raised in Canalou, Mo., and lived most of her life in Charleston, Mo., prior to moving to Cape Girardeau in 1988. She was a resident of Ratliff Care Center and was of Pentecostal belief. She was a member of the Super Centenarians, and until her death was the oldest living person in the state of Missouri.

She married Lester H. Poe on Feb. 28, 1917, who preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1957.

She is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Delbridge of Breese, Ill., Iris Vivian "Tod" Jackson of Cape Girardeau, Marilyn "Peggy" Laird of Valparaiso, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.

A daughter, Wanda Fitzpatrick; two grandsons; four brothers; and four sisters preceded her in death.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston will conduct visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 1 p.m. to service time Friday at McMikle Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McMikle, with the Rev. Donny Ford of Cape Girardeau officiating. Interment will be in IOOF Cemetery in Charleston.

Pallbearers will be Richard Yanis, Steven Jackson, Michael Jackson, Terence Laird, Lynn Fitzpatrick and Jonathan Fitzpatrick.
