Florence Marie Hutteger Meyr, 85, formerly of New Wells, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Florence Marie Hutteger Meyr, 85, formerly of New Wells, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 25, 1921, in New Wells, daughter of William L. and Emma K. Weber Hutteger. She and Gilbert "Gib" Meyr were married April 28, 1940, in New Wells. He died Dec. 30, 2004.

Florence was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells, where she taught Sunday school 26 years, was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Concordia Guild.

She helped Gib on the family farm at New Wells. Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Loving survivors include two sons, Delvin (Dottie) Meyr of Cape Girardeau, Ray (Julie) Meyr of Jackson; a daughter, Betty (Mike) Longman of Jackson; nine grandchildren, Darrin (Stacy) Meyr of Jackson, Daniel (Tina) Meyr of St. Louis, DeAnn (Gregg) Hein of Billings, Mont., Dwight (Diane) Meyr of St. Louis, David (Shareka) Meyr of Cape Girardeau, Sherri Palmer of Perryville, Mo., Brad (Paula) Meyr of Altenburg, Mo., Tony and Kala Longman of Jackson; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wilbert "Wib" (Jerlene) Hutteger of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Viola Perr; and two brothers, Melvin and Delmar Hutteger.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and after 9 a.m. Saturday until service time at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating.

Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund, Lutheran World Relief or Saxony Lutheran High School.
