FLORENCE HAWKINS

SIKESTON -- Florence J. Hawkins, 76, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at her home.

She was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Portageville, daughter of William Robert and Margaret-Ann Elizabeth Davidson House. She and Charles T. "Billy" Hawkins were married Oct. 30, 1937, at Portageville. He died Oct. 14, 1976.

Hawkins was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Hawkins of Matthews, Colin Hawkins of Sikeston; a brother, Raymond House of Portageville; five sisters, Marjorie Todd and Mary Weber of Sikeston, Betty Hawkins and Gladys Smith of Portageville, Ruby Rooker of New Madrid; three granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Billie Fair officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
