Florence Elna Porter, 95, 1202 Butler, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1992, at Cape LaCroix Nursing Center. She was born March 31, 1897, at Holcomb, daughter of James Perry and Arpie Olivia Pritchard Preslar. She married J.R. Bullock in August 1916. He died in 1935. She later married Chester R. Porter in 1944, who died in 1975...

Florence Elna Porter, 95, 1202 Butler, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1992, at Cape LaCroix Nursing Center.

She was born March 31, 1897, at Holcomb, daughter of James Perry and Arpie Olivia Pritchard Preslar. She married J.R. Bullock in August 1916. He died in 1935. She later married Chester R. Porter in 1944, who died in 1975.

Porter was a member of First Baptist Church, and former member of American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Thad Bullock of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-7:30 p.m. today. A funeral service will be held at 7:30, with the Rev. John Owen officiating.

Another service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Missionary Baptist Church in Holcomb. Burial will be in Pine City Cemetery at Holcomb.
