ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Flora L. Wunderlich, 85, of Altenburg died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.
She was born Jan. 21, 1925, at Dresden, Mo., daughter of Theobald and Emilie Franke Petzoldt. She and August Wunderlich were married Nov. 16, 1947. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 1984.
Mrs. Wunderlich had worked as a clerk for International Shoe Co. in Perryville, Mo., and at the Gas A Mat in Altenburg. She also was a newspaper correspondent for the Republic-Monitor in Perryville. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, Ladies Aid, choir member, LWML, 4-H leader and taught Sunday school. She was a member of Golden Agers and Altenburg Homemakers.
Survivors include three sons, James and Marian Wunderlich and Carey and Susan Wunderlich of Jackson, Duane and Carol Wunderlich of Altenburg; a daughter, Cheryl and Darrell Heck of Allen, Texas; a brother, Elmer E. Petzoldt of Cape Girardeau; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Willard Petzoldt.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church Refurbishing Fund.
