Flora F. Robert, 93, of Cape Girardeau, passed away on Sept. 6, 2024. A talented designer and stained glass artist, she leaves behind a loving family. Services are pending; memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Flora F. Robert, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, in Laguana Hills, California.

She was born Feb. 16, 1931, in Perry County to Edward and Josephine Balsmann. Josephine Balsmann was formerly a Schott. Flora F. Balsmann and Vernon Robert were married Oct. 3, 1953, at Apple Creek.

Flora was gifted in design, landscaping and home decorating. Her hobby was making stained glass. She made beautiful stained glass hanging pieces and Nativity scenes and gave many of the pieces to her family members. She also enjoyed boating and RV camping with relatives and friends.

She and Vernon lived in Cape Girardeau for more than 50 years. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.

Survivors include daughters, Candice (James) Kraushaar of Coto de Caza, California, and Jacalyn (Robert) McComb of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren, Rachel (Alex) Kraushaar-Althaus and Courtney Kraushaar of California; and brothers, Elmer (Joyce) Balsmann of Perryville and Edward (Doris) Balsmann of Old Appleton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and Herbert Balsmann; and one sister, Willma Myers.

Services are pending.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
