CHARLESTON -- Flora Lee Mason Henry, 77, of Charleston died Tuesday, June 3, 1997, at her home.
She was born June 8, 1919, in Walls, Miss., daughter of Julius and Flora Brown Kent. She married Henry Mason, who preceded her in death. She and Alex Henry were married Nov. 3, 1973.
Henry was a member of Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Deventer and its Missionary Society, Mother Board, and had been an usher.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Preston Mason of East St. Louis, Ill., Chester Mason of Benton Harbor, Mich., Floyd Mason of Charleston; four daughters, Marzella Cross of Charleston, Martha Scott, Mary Sneed and Evelyn Tabor of St. Louis.
Other survivors include three stepsons, Alex Henry Jr. of St. Louis, Richard Henry of Charleston, Calvin Henry of Aurora, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Brenda Henry of Aurora; four brothers, Edward Kent of Wilson City, Odell, Robert and Albert Kent of Charleston; 25 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church, with the Rev. William Watson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
