ALTENBURG -- Flora Marie Seibel Gerler, 86, of Altenburg died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 21, 1912, at Frohna, daughter of Friedrich and Marie Oberndorfer Seibel. She and Arnold M. Gerler were married on July 2, 1943...

ALTENBURG -- Flora Marie Seibel Gerler, 86, of Altenburg died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 21, 1912, at Frohna, daughter of Friedrich and Marie Oberndorfer Seibel. She and Arnold M. Gerler were married on July 2, 1943.

She was a housewife.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Altenburg. She was a member of Trinity Ladies Aid and an honorary member of LWML. She previously taught Sunday School and sang at Evangelist Lutheran Church in Frohna.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Charles Gerler of Altenburg; a daughter, Wanda Hall of Pawleys Island, S.C.; a brother, Walter Seibel of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by six brothers.

Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. The Rev. Ahlert J.C. Strand will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
