JACKSON -- Flora E. Wendel, 89, Jackson Route 2, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Nov. 30, 1902, near Old Appleton, daughter of John and Liz Bingenheimer Kasten. She and Benjamin Wendel were married Oct. 24, 1925.
Wendel was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ and its quilting club.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Clinton Wendel of Jackson; a daughter, Betty Sander of Columbia; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
