FLORA ALLEN

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Flora Belle Allen, 87, of Mounds died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born March 12, 1914, in Ullin, Ill., daughter of John and Flora Shifley Adkins. She married Fred Allen, who died in 1994.

Allen was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Windings of Villa Ridge, Ill., Marion Rhude of Belleville, Ill.; four sons, Fred Allen of Pulaski, Ill., Carl Brown of Marietta, Ga., Dr. Brian Allen of Nokomis, Fla., Gary Allen of Toledo, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Revs. John Windings, Stephen Wolfe and Verlee Eaker will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
