Flaura Nash

ADVANCE, Mo. — Flaura Nash, 102, of Route 1 in Advance died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at her home.

She was born July 4, 1906, at Swinton, Mo., daughter of Charlie and Ada Mae Hawk Bradshaw. She and George Nash were married June 29, 1927, at Bloomfield, Mo. He died March 24, 1984.

Nash was a member of Brownwood General Baptist Church in Brownwood, Mo. Early in life she and her husband worked in St. Louis. She worked during World War II at Small Arms, making ammunition for the soldiers. She also worked at two garment factories. She was an avid seamstress. After moving to a farm on Route 1 in Advance, she sewed for all her neighbors.

Survivors include a daughter, Edith Mae Blankenship of Advance; three grandchildren, Ladonna (Max) Dalton of Whitewater, Patsy (Freddie) Baker of Cape Girardeau, Tim (Tina) Blankenship of Zalma, Mo.; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Keith Price and Ralph Swarthout officiating. Burial will be in Rock Point Cemetery at Swinton.
