F.H. "Buck" Davis, 83, of 301 E. Cape Rock, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 1994, at his residence. He was born Feb. 24, 1910, at Cape Girardeau, son of Harrison and Clara Wines Davis. F.H. "Buck" Davis, 83, of 301 E. Cape Rock, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 1994, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 24, 1910, at Cape Girardeau, son of Harrison and Clara Wines Davis.

He married Helen Davis, Nov. 9, 1935, at Egypt Mills.

Davis was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific.

He was self employed for several years, performing the installation and repairs of petroleum equipment. He then worked for Mid-South Steel for 20 years, retiring in 1976.

Davis also worked as a professional photographer for 30 years.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and VFW Post 3838.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, LaVerne McNeely of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Jewell Hager of Farmington, Mo.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel, with the Rev. Steven MacDougall officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
