DONGOLA, Ill. -- Fern McIntosh Lingle, 83, of Dongola, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
She was born July 20, 1922, in Dongola, daughter of Clyde and Velma Johnson Schluter. She and Delmas McIntosh were married Oct. 15, 1941. He died Aug. 2, 1991. She and Ralph Lingle were married March 25, 2000.
Lingle was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in Dongola, worked with the Altar Guild and was a member of the Welca Group. She retired as a payroll clerk from Florsheim Shoe Co.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Judith Riggin of Herrin and Pat Medlin of Dongola; a son, Delmas Michael McIntosh of Harrisburg, Ill.; two brothers, Clyde Schulter of Jonesboro, Ill., Bill Schulter of Dongola; two sisters, Gail McIntosh of Ullin, Ill., Ruth Trampe of Metropolis, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a husband, a great-grandson and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Dongola, with Ruth Hanson officiating. Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery.
