SIKESTON -- Fern Johnson, 74, of Sikeston, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Mar. 16, 1919, at Canalou, daughter of Rubin R. and Sarah Ann Smith Brewington
She was member of Canalou Assembly of God Church.
She was first married Sept. 2, 1935, to Carl William Kirtley in New Madrid. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1952. She then married James R. Johnson on Feb. 7, 1953, in New Madrid County. He preceded her in death September of 1959.
She is survived by three sons, Delbert C. Kirtley of Sikeston, Billy W. Kirtley of Savannah, Tenn., and Randy L. Johnson, of Sikeston; a daughter, Peggy Dishman of Marshfield, Mo.; two step sons, Darrell Johnson of Malden and Larry Johnson, of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Shirley Malloy of Dexter; a brother, Evert Brewington of Fredericktown; two sisters, Leora Oliver of Essex and Dorothy Hunnicutt of Albuquerque, N.M.; 24 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a step son.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to time of service at 1:30 p.m. today in the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel at Sikeston, with the Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of Canalou Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
