CANALOU -- Funeral service for Felix M. Summers of Canalou will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Lyle Alford will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.

Summers, 80, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996, at Freeman East Hospital in Joplin.

He was born May 28, 1916, in New Madrid County, son of Waller Nesbitt and Ora Ruth Ingram Summers. He and Leona J. Carpenter were married Feb. 24, 1939, in Buffalo, Okla. She died Aug. 1, 1991.

Summers was a terminal manager with Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Yellville, Ark., and Masonic Lodge in Madison, Kan.

Survivors include a son, Max Summers of Azle, Texas; two daughters, Vonnie Timian of Neosho, Oralena Clifford of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Ellenora Giddens of Lilbourn; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
