LaBora F. "Faye" Stinnett, 87, of Jackson passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 4, 1934, in Dyer County, Tennessee, to Taylor and Rubye Huffstutter Ward. She was a graduate of Valley View High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Faye and John Stinnett were united in marriage on March 3, 1956, in Jonesboro. Their union was blessed with four children, Cindy, Mark, Joy Kaye and Amy. They had been married 55 years when John passed away April 20, 2011.

Faye was John's right hand in ministry, serving Church of Christ congregations in the communities of Benton, Louisiana; Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, and Scott City. In 1975 the family moved to Jackson, and John became a residential contractor and developer in the area. Faye was a natural fit to assume the responsibility of keeping the books for John's business.

Faye and John were faithful, active members of Jackson Church of Christ, where Faye was instrumental in establishing the church's Thursday School program, which still thrives to this day. Faye's heart was always burdened for children, and she had special, effective ways of teaching them about Christ.

Loving survivors include four children, Cindy (Joe) Ockay of Farmington, Missouri; Mark (Kristin) Stinnett of Quincy, Illinois; and Joy Kaye (Scott) Watson and Amy (Eric) Craft, both of Jackson; 16 grandchildren, Becky (Toby), David (Ellen), Daniel (Becka), Hannah, Jessica (Josh), Hannah (Mino), Katherine, Abby, Emily, Savannah, Sydney, Peyton, Lili, Joshua, Garrett and Nora Cate; eight great-grandchildren; four siblings, Ross (the late Sylvia) Ward of Jonesboro, Jerry (Laurel) Ward of Millersville, Areva (Joe) Chesser of Fruitland and Sally (Danny) Brinkley of Paragould, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.
