Faye McLaird

Faye McLaird, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Jackson, Mo., daughter of Ben and Fern Abernathy Reid. She and George McLaird were married April 10, 1946, in Jackson.

Mrs. Mc-Laird was a graduate of Jackson High School. She was employed at Southeast Missouri State University more than 15 years, and had been a volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital Gift Shop. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Larry McLaird of Cape Gir-ardeau; a daughter, Tracee Shepard of Jackson; a sister, Jewel Gettings of Scott City, Mo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark McLaird; a daughter, Cindy Halter; a brother; and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Anselm Williams officiating. Burial will be in McLain Chapel Cemetery at Oriole, Mo.
