JONESBORO, Ill. -- Faye Childers, 75, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
She was born July 8, 1922, in Jonesboro, daughter of Harrison and Vie Arnold Wheaton. She married Delbert Childers, who preceded her in death.
Childers was a member of First Baptist Church Fellowship Group, and attended Larkin Avenue Baptist Church in Elgin.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Griffey of Anna, Ada Newby of Elgin; two sons, Leo Childers of Dongola, Leon Childers of Hampshire; three sisters, Dorothy Angelly of Brookport, Ida Childers of Plato Center, Florene Smith of St. Louis; a brother, Luther Wheaton of Goreville; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-9 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
