Farris Wallace

Farris T. Wallace, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born April 26, 1925, in Minturn, Ark., son of Glynn and Rena Boleyn Wallace. He and Barbara Louise Gluckhertz were married on Nov. 21, 1947.

He spent most of his adult life in the soft drink industry, retiring from Royal Crown Cola after approximately 40 years of service. As district manager for RC, he opened and developed territory in southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois and northern Arkansas.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting and woodworking, but his greatest love was being with family and playing with his grandchildren. He was a man of faith and was a member of First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; son Farris D. "Buddy" Wallace (Eileen) of Bloomington, Ill.; four daughters, Cynthia J. "Sis" Robertson (Keith) of Joplin, Mo., Susan J. "Sue" Mohorc (John) of Yucaipa, Calif., Patricia D. "Patty" Langston of Pearland, Texas, and Lisa D. Helle (Gary) of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren, Tom and Pat Wallace, Angela (Bill) Bremer, Keith Robertson Jr., JoNette (Ian) MacGregor, Lori Mohorc, Chad (Amanda) Langston, Jessica (Noel) Luna, Tammy (Bill) Berry, Clayton Hill and Matthew and Ryan Helle; 12 great-grandchildren, Megan, Madelyn and Brant Bremer, Mackenzie, Mykayla and Caleb MacGregor, Gregory, Emma and Aubree Langston, Amy and Patricia Berry, and Isabelle Luna; brother Bill (Pat) Wallace of Jackson; and sister Beatrice Blackwell of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Wallace and two granddaughters, Erin Elizabeth and Mary Catherine Robertson.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Sam Ramdial officiating.
