HOUSTON -- Farris Lee Johnson, 82, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, in Houston.
She was born Aug. 9, 1934, in Anna, Illinois.
She was a graduate of the class of 1952 of Anna-Jonesboro High School. She was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church and served as a past president of the Brookwood Community volunteer organization. She also volunteered for MAM.
She was the daughter of Ruby and Homer Bishop of Anna.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles A. Newberry.
She leaves behind her husband, Gerald Johnson; sons, Jeff (Sandy) and Stephen (Kim) Newberry; grandchildren, Chase, Alex and Dylan Newberry and Alexandra Minnick; and stepchildren, John, Joe and Jay Johnson.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Brookwood Community, 1752 FM 1489 Road, Brookshire, TX 77423.
Funeral arrangements were by Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston.
