FARRELL E. FERGUSON

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Farrell E. Ferguson, 66, a member of the Jonesboro School District No. 43 Board of Education, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 14, 1926, the son of Benjamin and Lois Hileman Ferguson. On June 15, 1949, he married Bettie Clardy.

Ferguson was a member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle Church in Jonesboro. He had been a member of the Jonesboro School District No. 43 Board of Education since 1969, and retired this year from Anna School District No. 37 after working for 13 years as a custodian and bus driver.

Prior to that he was a parts man for the Union County Motor Co. and shop foreman for Pearl Motor Co. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Jonesboro; four sons, Steve of Charleston, Ill., Bruce of Port Ludlow, Wash., Roger of St. Peters, Mo., and Alan of Jonesboro; a brother, Don Ferguson of Mt. Vernon, Ill; five grandchildren, two uncles, an aunt, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Ferguson.

Friends may call at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Carr and the Rev. Jack Holmes officiating.

Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery with military graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW.
