MARBLE HILL -- F. Rae Ward, 68, of Marble Hill died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Sept. 25, 1929, at Herral, Ark., daughter of Beau and Bessie Johnson Hopper.
She married Gene Ward on June 29, 1948.
She was a member of the Marble Hill First Baptist Church, a licensed Missouri funeral home director with Liley Funeral Homes, and a jewelry clerk at Wal-Mart SuperCenter in Cape Girardeau.
She and her husband founded and operated the Ward Funeral Home in Marble from 1953 to 1979, when it was sold to Liley.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Robert Ward of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Timothy Ward of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Tamara Morehouse of Colorado Springs; two brothers, G.W. Hopper of San Jose, Calif., and Bobby Hopper of Camden, Ark.; two sisters, Mary Zimmerman of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jean Alvarez of San Jose; and two grandchildren.
Her parents, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Marble Hill First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Fred Ritter and Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
