MATTHEWS -- Frederick Junior Butler, 64, of Matthews, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 1995, as a result of an accident near here.

He was born May 19, 1931, in Marston, son of Fred Buck and Pearl Alice Butler. He first married Margie Cross. He later married Carolyn E. Eastep June 15, 1966, in Flint, Mich.

Butler retired as a truck driver with Moorman Feed. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and had been a prisoner of war more than two years. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jimmy Butler of Covington, Tenn., Bynum and Samuel Butler of the home, Frederick Butler of Sikeston; a brother, Herman Butler of Mountain View; four sisters, Jessie Smith of Florida, Cora Taylor of Orange, Calif., Lucille Reno of Caruthersville, Eva Rose of Kansas City, Kan.; three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
