Everett Wayne Norris, 45, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.

He was born Dec. 28, 1966, in Cape Girardeau. He had resided at 1220 Bloomfield Road in Cape Girardeau. He previously resided in Tishomingo, Okla., where he graduated from Tishomingo High School.

Mr. Norris, who was known as a compassionate and fun-loving man, was the beloved brother of Virginia Sue Roberts and Douglas Gene Norris. Mr. Norris was known to have commented on how proud he was of his nephew and four nieces, whom he loved dearly. He often would brag about his five great-nephews, and loved to tell stories about their antics.

Mr. Norris grew up playing music with his family, and this love of music followed him throughout his lifetime. Although he was most accomplished at playing drums, he also could be heard strumming a handy guitar.

Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Ida Rau; his father, Eugene Norris; his stepfather, Richard Rau; and an infant brother, Charles Norris.

Mr. Norris is survived by his sister, his brother, his nephew and nieces and his great-nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Douglas Breite of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Humane Society.
